In the present study, Taguchi method is employed with five controllable factors at three levels. The experiments are conducted for SS316 material on Wire EDM by using standard L27 Orthogonal Array (OA). The optimization process of Material Removal Rate (MRR) and Surface Roughness (Ra) was performed by both taguchi method and ANOVA. The optimal combination of process parameters was obtained at for MRR: TON: 120 μs, TOFF: 58 μs, WF: 4 m/min, WT: 5 Kg-f and SV: 20 Volts. Similarly, for Ra: TON: 125 μs, TOFF: 60 μs, WF: 2 m/min, WT: 4 Kg-f and SV: 25 Volts respectively. The ANOVA results showed that Pulse-off-Time (TOFF) and Wire Feed (WF) are the most dominant factors for Material Removal Rate and Surface Roughness respectively.
