Abstract

Robots are defined as multifunctional programmable manipulator which is intended to perform multitasking or perform assigned work. In other words it can be defined as “Forced Labor” which performs the work assigned by the programmer. Unlike human beings, Robots doesn’t undergo fatigue cycle where in they can perform the task assigned without break. Robots are replacing the human beings due to their workability parameters which are superior than others, They have safeguarded human beings in many of the hazardous applications. Specially the Robots play a vital role in Spray painting, Gas welding works where the life of the human being are at risk. Robots can perform well in any of the environment effectively without any assistant or
minimum assistant of the human being. The work envelop of the Robot depends on the configuration where it is working which ranges from Cartesian, Cylindrical, Rectangular or Irregular. The choice of the configuration depends on the type of the work where the robot has to perform. An attempt is made in this article to highlight about some of the configurations the robots uses in its regular work to perform a specific task programmed by the programmer.
