Designing Fabrication of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) Shredding Unit: An accessory for Plastic Recycling Unit

Abstract

One of the largest environmental problems is the widespread usage of plastics. Only 10% of plastic garbage is recycled, with the remaining 12% being burned. The remainder is disposed of in the environment, which harms wildlife, habitat, people, land, waterways, and oceans. They are also disposed of in seas, rivers, oceans, and landfills, among other places. Therefore, recycling plastic garbage is the only and best option. By doing so, resources can be conserved as well as environmental carbon emissions. As a result, many plastic recycling facilities are created. In the present work for the proper and efficient functioning of the plastic recycling unit and to avoid manual work, small shredder machine is fabricated which consists of Hopper, shredder blade, control unit, frame, spur gear, tray, and induction motor.
