Public buildings in Indian cities are in some
way not accessible to everyone, including the
elderly, people with disabilities, young
children, etc. Most people who believe them to
be "normal" people have forgotten that
environmental accessibility is a crucial
concern. People still struggle to demand their
right to an "environment free of barriers,"
thus in this study we may look into their
issues and attempt to address them as well as
provide them with freely independent
surroundings and services. Therefore,
architects, urban designers, and landscape
architects need to take into account the needs
of those who have disabilities and support
them in leading independent, self-determined
lives. Barrier-free planning in this context
refers to construction that eliminates
obstacles for children, the elderly, and
individuals with disabilities. In this study, any
relevant constraints that users were clearly
described, along with how specific elements of
the built environment can act as obstacles for
those who have these limitations. They
identify planning-related needs for various
user groups using this as the background. The
evaluations of barrier-free design in a
constructed environment are the main subject
of this study.
